1.What we are

RupaPorup is a marketplace. We do not own most of the stock — independent sellers across Bangladesh list their products here, and we provide the storefront, the checkout, the delivery network and the dispute process that makes buying from a stranger safe.

That model is what lets a weaver in Tangail and an electronics importer in Agrabad reach the same shopper in Sylhet.

2.Why Cash on Delivery matters

Most online shopping in Bangladesh still ends with cash changing hands at a doorstep, and that is not a limitation to be engineered away — it is a trust mechanism. Being able to open the box before paying is the strongest guarantee a first-time online shopper can have.

So Cash on Delivery is not a fallback option here. It is the default, available in all 64 districts.

3.How we verify sellers

Every store submits a trade licence or NID before it can list a single product. We check the document against the business name, and a store only gets its verified badge once that check passes. The badge on a listing means that specific check happened — not that we like the seller.

4.How we make money

We take a flat commission on each sale — currently 5% — and nothing else. Sellers do not pay to list, and they cannot pay for better placement in search results. Ranking is driven by what shoppers actually buy and rate.
